Holy mistletoe! Can you believe Christmas is NEXT WEEK? It’s crunch time to finalize all the dinner plans, double check your guest list and get your décor perfected for the most joyful day of the year!

If you’re like me, the key to hosting during the holidays is simplicity. Less is truly more when it comes to your table décor. I will be using two of my favorite designers - Kelly Wearstler and Athena Calderone - as inspiration.

Both Athena and Kelly use a relatively minimal amount of décor but take an unconventional approach in the way they place the items, making it have a huge impact. This year, their tabletop go-tos are pomegranates, chestnuts, amaryllises, and rosemary bushes.

They both use food as focal point of the design - which I love. This takes a very minimal amount of effort but can create a big impact. I will definitely be taking a tip from these pros and using mostly fresh items from the grocery store or local nursery when designing my tabletop. However, a superb holiday tabletop isn’t complete without the perfect dinnerware, flatware, and glasses.

Remember, the key to the holidays is minimal effort and preparation. Give yourself a break, for pete sake! And don’t be afraid to ask for help from your friends and family :)
